| So how do you guys think the best way to take over the islands would have been compared to the Ottoman's strategy? | |

| Just because I haven't posted here yet, I'd say come from every direction in massive numbers, at night, and work your way in, destroying all opposition in your path. Or something. | |

| That's what the Ottomans did. They sort of had the whole massive stonewalls and artillery problem. | |

| Why is it that all the people I talk to always suggest nukes? Really, almost everyone at my school I discuss with suggest nukes as answers to things. | |

| I was thinking we hijack the orbit of an asteroid and send it in a collision course with the planet! These seems more then mildly off topic. | |

| The Siege of Malta was pretty darn epic, eh?
And the Spaniards were evil. They killed the Aztec and the Incans.

| They also saved Malta. But it would have been interesting to know how advanced the Meso Americans could have become. | |

| During the final Ottoman Assault on the main forts the Turks through everything they had into the fray since losing would mean they'd have to pull out of Malta. In the epic fighting the Grand Marshal of the Hospitallers joined in and was wounded and all the Maltese citizens in the city came and fought with what ever they had in a hopeless battle where victory was just killing as many Turks as you can till they over ran the place.
Just as the walls were taken the Ottomans fled back out of the forts and towards their camp. The Spaniard and Italian army (The Italians having been subjugated by the Spanish) had landed on Malta and was ransacking the Ottoman Camp along with the Maltese Calvary from Midna. The Spanairds collected themselves and set up a battle line. They engaged the disorganized Ottomans and after several volley exchanges the Ottomans fled to their ships and lost the battle for Malta.

| They also trodded on the Dutch and Flemish, massacred Native Americans, including some of the most advanced civilizations in the new world, and caused the Barbary Pirate crisis in the Mediterranean and helped inadvertently cause the Ottoman Assault on Malta in the first place. | |

| They also paved the way for the New World, mapped out the new world, helped destroy the Ottoman fleet at Lepanto, pushed back the Berbers from North Africa and fought a war with the US that turned the US into a modern super power. | |

They lost nearly everything single major battle of the hundreds years war, most humiliating, yet still won it.
